Installing oncofertility programs for common cancers in optimum resource settings (Repro-Can-OPEN Study Part II): a committee opinion

PurposeThe main objective of Repro-Can-OPEN Study Part 2 is to learn more about oncofertility practices in optimum resource settings provide a roadmap establish best practice models.MethodsAs an extrapolation for models settings, we surveyed 25 leading and well-resourced centers institutions from the USA, Europe, Australia, Japan. The survey included questions on availability degree utilization fertility preservation options case childhood cancer, breast blood cancer.ResultsAll responded all questions. Responses their calculated scores showed three major characteristics settings: (1) strong sperm freezing, egg embryo ovarian tissue gonadal shielding, fractionation chemo- radiotherapy; (2) promising GnRH analogs, oophoropexy, testicular oocyte vitro maturation (IVM); (3) rare neoadjuvant cytoprotective pharmacotherapy, artificial ovary, spermatogenesis, stem cell reproductive technology as they are still preclinical or early clinical research settings. Proper technical ethical concerns should be considered when offering advanced experimental patients.ConclusionsOur proposed installing specific programs common cancers models. This will efficient edification modeling teams related healthcare providers around globe help them offer care possible patients.
